*SPECIAL DEMO* Sculpting a Human Torso w/ Jai Sallay-Carrington - 1 Day
Date/Time: Sunday, January 26th from 4:30pm to 6:30pm
Workshop Description:
Join Jai Sallay-Carrington for a 2-hour demonstration on building a human torso from the waist up using slab techniques. Learn how to create and attach layers of slabs to construct the vertical trunk of the torso, followed by techniques to shape the form into a lifelike body. Jai will guide you through the process, demonstrating how to alter the clay with tools and gestures to achieve realistic anatomical proportions. This session covers essential tips on fat and muscle distribution, along with methods to calculate the scale and features of the body. Perfect for artists looking to expand their skills in slab-building and realistic sculpture.
All profits for this demo will go to the Gender Bands Organization for Trans Rights Advocacy in Salt Lake City, Utah. With anti-trans legislation in effect in Utah, it’s important to us to support pro-trans charitable organizations as we are attending NCECA this year. This is a sliding scale workshop, please donate what you can afford. Every person who makes a $100 donation will receive one free bag of PSH 519 clay.
