The CW HB 101: Beginners Hand-Building Workshop is all about getting creative, having a good time and experimenting with clay in a friendly environment. In this 6-week course, you will have the opportunity to learn or improve basic hand-building techniques such as pinching, coiling and slab building. Students will then use the skills learned to plan and create their own special project to complete in class. $350 per student, all materials and tools included.
NO CLAY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The CW HB 102: Beginners Continued Hand-Building Workshop is still about getting creative and having a good time while experimenting with clay in a friendly environment. However, in this course, students will be challenged by creating more complex forms and growing your skill set. $350 per student, all materials and tools included.
CLAY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Students must have prior experience in hand-building by taking a beginners hand-building workshop with us or elsewhere
The CW 101: Beginners Wheel Throwing Workshop will focus on the primary skill of working on the potter’s wheel. In this 6-week course, you will learn how to prep your clay, center your clay, glaze your wares and everything in between; not only will you leave this class with a basic understanding of wheel throwing, but you will leave with a sense of community. $350 per student, all materials and tools included.
NO CLAY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The CW 102: Beginners-Continued Wheel Throwing Workshop is for those who have prior experience, You know the basics, like centering and pulling a wall, but you want to practice these skills and start creating some different forms. In this class, we’ll move on to different forms that will challenge your newfound skills. $350 per student, all materials and tools included.
CLAY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Students must be able to centre clay confidently and throw a minimum 4" cylinder unassisted
- Students must have taken a beginners wheel throwing 101 with us or elsewhere
The CW 103: Advanced Wheel Throwing is for potters who are comfortable with the basics and intermediate techniques, such as centering and pulling taller forms, and are looking to explore more complex projects.
CLAY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Students should have completed multiple beginner and intermediate wheel-throwing workshops or equivalent training elsewhere.
- Students must be proficient at centering at least 1.5 kilograms (3.3 lbs) of clay and throwing consistent, well-formed cylinders (minimum 6 inches tall) without assistance.

- Please pay close attention to experience level required to take each class
- Once a workshop has begun, refunds WILL NOT be given.

Please ensure you can commit to all class dates.
- Cancellations are accepted up to 7 days before the first workshop date, and all cancellations are subject to a $50 administration fee. Cancellations made 6 days or less before the workshop will not be refunded. Once a workshop has begun, refunds will not be processed.
