SPECIAL WORKSHOP* Basic Hand-Built Mug with Indoor Ceramics (One Day Workshop)

Workshop Description:

Are you looking to try ceramics, but can’t commit to a 6-week class? This build-a-mug workshop is perfect for you!

Come spend a fun and creative evening making your very own handmade mug! In this one-time workshop, you’ll learn how to design and build a mug from start to finish—no experience needed!

You’ll get to choose the perfect size and play with texture stamps to make this mug truly your own. Whether you're here to try something new or just want a cozy, hands-on experience, this is all about having fun and getting a little messy.

By the end, you'll have a mug that’s uniquely yours—perfect for morning coffee, late-night tea, or just showing off your new skills! 

Workshop Description Breakdown:

Location: The Clay Warehouse - #11-1770 McLean Ave. Port Coquitlam, BC, V3C 4K8

Dates & Time: Wednesday, December 16 from 5:30 - 8:00 PM

Who Should Attend/Skill Prerequisites: No clay experience required

Technique: Hand building using slabs (NO POTTERY WHEEL USED)

Tools and equipment: Basic hand building tools, stamps, table work.

Project: Make and decorate a functional hand built mug using various surface decoration techniques.

Materials: All necessary materials are provided, including clay, tools, and firing services, as well as studio glazes.

Post Workshop: Once your piece is finished, we will fire it in our kiln twice. Once bisque fired, Brendan will dip your mugs into a glaze to make the mug food safe and colourful. Please give us 5 weeks to finish you piece from the last day of class.

Time until your art piece is ready for pick up: 5-weeks (email will be sent out when your piece is ready to pick up) PIECES WILL NOT BE READY IN TIME FOR HOLIDAY GIFTING

No Clay Experience Required:

This class is ideal for those new to clay, seeking a different method than the potter's wheel, or looking to learn new skills.

Ensure you can commit to all class dates:

We plan our class dates far in advance to provide adequate notice for you to plan your life around our workshops. We ask that future students registering for this class commit to all class dates.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations are accepted up to 7 days before the first workshop date and are subject to a $50 administration fee. Cancellations made 6 days or less before the workshop are non-refundable, regardless of the reason for cancellation. We are unable to make exceptions to this policy for medical circumstances or any other situation. Refunds will not be issued on cancellations made 6 days or less before a workshop start date and once a workshop has begun.

As a small business, we rely on each class being fully booked to cover the costs of our instructors, materials, and equipment. Our cancellation policy allows us to plan accordingly and ensure we can continue offering workshops.
