Workshop Duration: This is a one-day workshop (2.5 hours in length)

Dates/Times:

Wednesday, April 8th from 5:30 - 8:00pm

Workshop Description:

Join Kathy to create a one-of-a-kind ceramic wall hanger in this hands-on, creative workshop.

Working with clay slabs, students will design and build a multi-piece wall hanging, with plenty of opportunities to personalize each piece using a variety of textures and colours. You’ll be encouraged to create something meaningful and unique that reflects your own style and can be proudly displayed in your home.

After the workshop, your pieces will be carefully dried and fired, and Kathy will glaze them in your chosen colour. Once firing is complete, which will take around 3 weeks, you’ll receive cord to string your finished pieces together, bringing your custom wall hanger to life!

About the Instructor:

Kathy Szuba is the designer and maker behind ceramics brand STUDIO EIGHTEEN.

With a background in interior design and architecture, Kathy's work is deeply inspired by the built environment around us. Light, shadow, texture, shape, and colour are key features that inform her designs. Her collection includes ceramic jewellery and homewares including wall art.

Kathy specializes in slab-built and hand-built ceramic techniques using underglaze to create colourful, bold designs and patterns.  When she's not working in her home studio, you can find her selling STUDIO EIGHTEEN ceramics at Vancouver markets including Circle Craft, Got Craft and Khatsahlano street festival.

This process could take up to three weeks to complete. When your vessel is finished, we will email you pick up times.
