Workshop Duration: This is a one-day workshop (2.5 hours in length)
Dates/Times:
Tuesday, April 7th from 5:30 - 8:00pm
Workshop Description:
Students will work in a small workshop to design and make their own wall clock. Brendan will walk you through each step, from working with slabs and appliqués to refining your design. Create a new clock for your home or as a gift for someone special. Working with stoneware, you’ll have the opportunity to make a wall clock up to 14” in diameter. You can adorn it with a textured finish, paint an underglaze design, or select a coloured glaze. Samples of different finishes will be provided.
Finished work will be ready for pickup from The Clay Warehouse approximately three weeks after the workshop. Clock hardware will be provided. In this workshop, you’ll gain an understanding of slab-built ceramic techniques and the design decisions involved before starting a project. All materials and tools are included.
About the Instructor:
Brendan Carroll (he/him) is an instructor at The Clay Warehouse. His work primarily focuses on slab-built forms and practical design, with an emphasis on technique, patience, and problem-solving. Brendan enjoys helping students get comfortable with clay, whether they’re brand new to ceramics or expanding their skills beyond the wheel.
