Workshop Duration: One day workshop (2.5 hours)
Dates/Times: Tuesday, July 21 from 5:30 - 8:00 PM
Workshop Description:
Join Kathy for a hands-on workshop where you’ll create your own functional ceramic platter!
In this workshop you’ll be guided through the entire process, from rolling and shaping slabs of clay to building and refining your platter form. Once your piece is constructed, you'll explore a variety of surface decoration techniques, including underglaze painting, carving, and textural design. Kathy will share examples of different decorative approaches and provide guidance as you develop a design that reflects your own style and interests.
Whether you prefer bold patterns, botanical motifs, simple geometric designs, or more detailed illustrations, this workshop offers plenty of room for creativity. You'll leave with a one-of-a-kind handmade platter that is both functional and decorative—perfect for displaying in your home, serving food, or giving as a thoughtful handmade gift.
All pieces will be finished with a clear glaze and fired after the workshop is complete. It can take approximately 5 weeks for students’ work to be finished and ready for pick up at The Clay Warehouse. All materials, tools, and firings are included.
Workshop Description Breakdown:

Project: Make and decorate a functional hand built platter using various surface decoration techniques.
Time until your art piece is ready for pick up: 5-weeks (email will be sent out when your piece is ready to pick up)
