Want to continue your clay journey? If you've taken a beginner's workshop or have basic clay experience, and you're looking to brush up on your hand-building skills, check this one out! The Clay Warehouse 102 Beginners-Continued Hand-Building workshop is for those who have taken a beginner's class with us or an equivalent elsewhere. You know the basics like coiling, slab, and pinching but you want to practice these skills and start creating different forms.
The Clay Warehouse's HB 102 Beginners Continued Hand-Building Workshop is still about getting creative and having a good time while experimenting with clay in a friendly environment. However, in this course, students will be challenged by creating more complex forms and growing your skill set.
In this 6-week course, you will how to push you beginners skills beyond what you think is possible. Students will be learning forming and decorative techniques including multi-part coil building (such as for large planters, wall hangings and vases), geometric assemblage, sgraffito, lidded vessels, and sculptural additions.
The class is kept small, ensuring each student gets the opportunity for one-on-one attention. This class is only offered to students who have taken a hand-building 101 course from us or equivalent elsewhere. Each workshop takes place over 6 weeks, with 2.5 hours per class. All clay, tools, and supplies for this workshop are provided. Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 6 students to ensure plenty of one-on-one time with your instructor.
Students who enroll in this class will have access to our online booking system to schedule a drop-in studio session. Booking open studio time during or after your class is a great way to build on the skills learned in class!
